This course deals with the analysis and design of advanced electronic circuits.

Topics include: further circuit theory and analysis methods, port networks and their matrix descriptions, circuit simulation, Laplace transform in circuit analysis, filters: transfer function, design, realization.

Learning Outcomes:

On successful completion of this module, students should be able to

- Acquire further understanding of circuit theory and analysis methods
- Understand what are two-port networks and how to obtain associated matrix descriptions
- Explain the methods used in a circuit simulator
- Understand how to apply Laplace transform in circuit analysis and the rationales behind
- Analyse and design passive/active filters to meet given specifications
