EEEN3006J Wireless Systems

Academic Year 2023/2024

Restriction: Beijing-based students only.

This module deals with the analysis and design of systems using radio waves for communication and other applications. Students will learn to use Maxwell’s equations, building up to the wave equation. They will derive the far field equations of antennas, and examine radiation patterns of simple antennas. They will study the propagation of radio waves in a variety of environments; how to calculate link budgets; radio transmitter, receiver and transceiver architectures; functional blocks such as mixers and power amplifiers; noise; and implementation technologies and design considerations.
