Learning Outcomes:
On completion of the module the students should have developed:

2. In-depth knowledge of the complex social, economic and cultural challenges societies face in implementing sustainable development
3. Skills to analyse policy documents, publications and educational materials related to Global Development Education and Global Citizenship Education.
4. Skills for the analysis of complex social, economic and cultural challenges.
5. Skills to synthesize key concepts of Global Development Education and Global Citizenship Education.
Indicative Module Content:
1. The key concepts, theories and pedagogy underpinning Global Citizenship Education, including the history and origins of Global Citizenship Education
2. What is Sustainable Development and the SDGs as major international policy to address the complex challenges facing the planet and people.
3. Implementation of Global Citizenship Education in Ireland, Europe and internationally
4. Pedagogy and teaching for a global, sustainable and equitable world
