This is a compulsory module for students on the Doctorate in Educational Psychology programme. The aim of this module is, through lectures, tutorials and supervised professional practice, to further develop students’ skills in psychometric assessment and report writing and in particular to develop skills related to therapeutic interventions such as group interventions, consultancy and systemic initiatives, and therapeutic interventions.

About this Module

Learning Outcomes:

On completion of this module, students should be able to:
• Show an awareness of the theoretical, ethical and practical issues involved in psychometric and attainment assessment.
• Show continued awareness of the professional and ethical issues involved in the practice of Educational Psychology.
• Competently conduct psychological assessments and liaise appropriately with clients, parents and other professionals, as appropriate.
• Write clear,accessible reports of psychological assessments and other interventions and effectively communicate findings to clients, parents and other professionals, as appropriate.
• Engage in and deliver interventions at individual and group level.
• Engage in consultative and systemic interventions as appropriate.
• Competently plan, organise, deliver and evaluate training initiatives with teachers and families.
