Academic Year 2021/2022

A minor thesis of 12,000-15,000 words on a topic of educational relevance, completed in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the award of the Master of Education Degree in Inclusive Education and the Master of Arts Degree in Education. Students complete a thesis proposal, outlining their chosen research area. This is reviewed by the Course Director and relevant academic staff. Each student is assigned appropriate supervision and commence their research. The completed thesis is submitted for examination.

Learning Outcomes:

Students will complete a thesis appropriate to the level required for the award of a Masters degree. This thesis should demonstrate: a systematic understanding of knowledge in the chosen research field; a clear rationale for the research objectives and design; the use of a range of standard and/or more specialised research tools and/or techniques of enquiry; compliance with recommended ethical guidelines; the capacity to select from, scrutinise, reflect upon and critically evaluate data in the context of the research objectives; the ability to arrive at clear conclusions that communicate the outcomes and implications of the research.
