ECON10020 Principles of Macroeconomics

Academic Year 2024/2025

This module will introduce students to some basic principles that economists use to understand the macroeconomy. In doing so we will address questions such as how economists measure aspects of the economy like GDP and inflation, as well as how they understand recessions and the role of government policy in managing the macroeconomy. Using the CORE The Economy curriculum, this module will employ economic theory, empirical evidence and informed debate to understand the nature of these questions and how we can begin to answer them.
