Curricular information is subject to change.

In this course, students will undertake a number of case studies in teams that will reflect accurately the types of projects that they might encounter as engineers in the real world. The projects will be challenging and will test a number of skills, both hard and soft (i.e., technical as well as "transferrable", such as communications), required by civil engineers. Guidance will be offered by civil engineers from the work place.

About this Module

Learning Outcomes:

There are a number of learning objectives associated with this module that will help students to acquire both hard and soft skills required by civil engineers. Students will work in teams on projects, and will have to demonstrate and develop the ability to interact with other students. Students will also be expected to present their case studies in the form of written and oral reports and so will improve their communication, writing and graphical skills.

Students will be bringing together knowledge learnt across the modules they have taken at UCD, and so will have to demonstrate the ability to think critically and to problem-solve.
