This module introduces the management theory in the construction industry with an overview of the project life cycle, the influence factors and the industry’s place in the community. Students will explore the process of construction projects and the role of the construction manager. This module will provide a range of management concepts associated with construction projects.

• Investigate and evaluate the Construction Management process and elements implemented within the organisation
• Describe qualitative and quantitative construction management techniques, their uses, benefits and limitations
• Apply appropriate sources of information in the construction project life cycle and explain proper techniques to manipulate data in assessing the projects
• Evaluate the benefits of various management and technique skills by Performing a construction management case study on a diverse scenario
• Create a complete construction management plan with appropriate methods

Approaches to Teaching and Learning:
This module consists of lecture classes and tutoring classes for topics.
Lecture classes will explain the theory of each topic (construction management) and the student will practice and solve the problem with provided cases during the tutoring class.
