CRWT30160 Special Topics Workshop I

Academic Year 2022/2023

Special Topics is a module which provides student writers a workshop to practice the art of writing, and to explore a range of craft issues within the context of a special topic. This module will focus on autofiction, personal essay, and memoir – life writing – as a process with interesting and important implications for form, content, approach, and our sense of ourselves as writers, narrators, or characters in our own creative work. We will read important and provocative examples from this genre, workshop our own personal or auto-fictive narratives, and produce a portfolio work that is inventively shaped by and responds to the themes of the course.
