Creative Writing is a 10 CREDIT intermediate course in creative writing. Students will develop skills and techniques in the writing of fiction, poetry, and creative non-fiction. Workshops will feature writing assignments aimed to develop each student’s creative writing. Peer review, discussion and revision will ensure the practice-based character of the module

Learning Outcomes:

At the conclusion of this module students will be able to:
1. Generate original compositions in both prose and poetry.
2. Provide constructive criticism to the creative writing of their peers.
3. Revise their own creative writing.
4. Begin to reflect critically on their own practice as a creative writer.
5. Demonstrate an intermediate knowledge of the codes and conventions of a variety of genres.
6. Work effectively and participate workshops.
