An intensive research project, done in conjunction with a principal supervisor. This project is started in the first trimester and continues until mid August.

Learning Outcomes:

The student will learn to conduct independent research, including familiarization with current literature, formation of experimental hypotheses, experimental design, interpretation of results and communication of those results.

Projects may be done in groups or as individual projects. In group projects, the literature review and conduct components will be marked individually, and a group mark will be given for the final report and the project presentation.

Approaches to Teaching and Learning:
Initial project plans are laid through an iterated process of planning and critique. Thereafter, students meet regularly with their project supervisor, and otherwise work independently.

This project is only available to students enrolled in the MA/MSc Cognitive Science programme.
