This module supports students who are participating in research dissemination initiatives, in particular, running Symposia, Workshops or similar events.

About this Module

Learning Outcomes:

From practical application, the student will have developed an appreciation of how to plan, organise, budget, schedule an event, with a particular focus on clear communications within the organising team and with visiting speakers, sponsors, suppliers and audience.

Approaches to Teaching and Learning:
This is experiential learning where a practical activity is planned as a workshop, symposium or similar related event. The real world interaction with planned participants is a key element of the learning. This module is only available for students who have in the first instance identified the relevant event that they will be involved in planning, and got approval for it.

The student needs to be registered on a Research Degree (research MSC, PhD or MD) and to have discussed in advance with the module co-ordinator the suitability of the event that they are participating for inclusion in this module.
