Learning Outcomes:
How to listen and make sense of research talks and research papers.
How to present to a scientific audience.
How to think critically about whether research claims in publications are clearly supported by the presented evidence.
How to think about how to optimally present and organise research papers, and design studies.
Indicative Module Content:
Papers for journal club talks are chosen by the students presenting them. They should be recent primary research papers that include a bioinformatics aspect and will be of broad interest (not too specialised).
Research seminars are on the topics of the students' own research projects (e.g. their PhD project). They should focus on the bioinformatics aspects of the research project.
