On completion of this course, students will be able to:
1) understand, with ease, extended speech and lectures on familiar topics.
2) understand contemporary literary prose.
3) write an essay or report, passing on information or giving reasons in support of or against a particular point of view.
Upon satisfactory completion, students will have a good grasp of the key linguistic elements of HSK level 4.

Learning Exclusions:Students who are native Mandarin speakers are not eligible to take this module as an elective. The lecturer reserves the right to assess the language competence of all students. Students whose competence is incompatible with the level of their chosen elective module will be advised to transfer to a more appropriate language module.
