On completion of this module students should be able to:
1. analyse a variety of separation processes in terms of equilibrium stages.
2. analyse batch distillation processes
3. solve and analyse problems in batch and continuous crystallization processes
4. evaluate the performance of highly non-ideal distillation systems
5. analyse a variety of rate-controlled separation processes
6. evaluate separation process options in a wider context of sustainability, SHE and commerical considerations.

Feed back following the mid-term examination will be conducted via worked solutions for exam questions in subsequent lectures in addition to returning results to students. The final examination will make up the remainder of the assessment, marks for which will be returned with examination results.
