On successful completion of this module students should be able: 1.To draw condensed and expanded chemical structures of representative members of each of the major functional classes in organic chemistry. 2.To predict the physical properties of an organic molecule based on functionality. 3.To identify the reagents needed in a range of syntheses of target molecules. 4.To write detailed reaction mechanisms for certain synthetic routes. 5.To describe the structures and reactivities of biomolecules in physiological conditions.
