CDIC1002W Descriptive Geometry and Engineering Drawing

Descriptive Geometry and Engineering Drawing is a technical basic course. It is a subject about the theories and methods of studying making and reading engineering drawings and solving spatial geometry problems by projection. At the same time, students’ ability to draw engineering graphics using computers is being developed. In the study, students are required to master projection theory and application, especially orthographic projection, learn graphic methods of spatial measuring and positioning problems, learn the method of making and reading engineering drawings, and learn to draw by using a computer.

Indicative Learning Outcomes: By the end of this course, students should
 Have detailed knowledge of descriptive geometry
 Have a working knowledge of Engineering drawing and Measurement etc
 Have an understanding of solving spatial geometry problem by projection
 The ability to draw engineering graphics by using computer
 Have detailed knowledge of descriptive geometry and understand its potential applications in Transportation and City Planning projects
