The creative and cultural industries are 'people businesses' but what does this actually mean in practice? In this module you will deepen you understanding of working with people drawing on the learning gained in Stage 1. This module will give you theoretical and practical skills to build your portfolio of understanding whether you plan to work for yourself, start your own business or enter an existing organisation.

On completion of this module students should be able to:

1. Understand a range of theories related to people in the workplace (in particular, the creative and cultural industries)
2. Gain practice based people-skills while managing and delivering a group creative project
3. Deepen self-awareness and the capacity to reflect critically on self, role and contribution to class, individual and group

Approaches to Teaching and Learning:
Classes will have a mix of lecture, small group discussion, class presentation on assigned readings and will be designed to be interactive and conversational. I will also use video, podcasts and other media in classes. Sides (when used) will be provided (in multiple formats) on Brightspace in advance of class.

I will expect you to have read the assigned readings read for that day in advance of class and to be ready to discuss /present these in class.

A high degree of participation will be required by students particularly in the group assignment. This will require independent research and the completion of a group creative project
