The project will provide you with an opportunity to examine a ‘live’ management or business
issue, to collect and analyse relevant primary and secondary data, to draw conclusions and to
make recommendations for the modification and/or change of the management or business
issue in question. The management or business issue chosen should relate to an area of
study you have covered during the MSc (Management) (part-time) programme.
You are required to identify a management or business problem or issue within a selected
organisation. The chosen topic should be one which is currently of concern to the organisation.
Before submitting a project proposal, you are encouraged to discuss your proposed topic with
me. I

Learning Outcomes:

On completion of this module you should be able to:
• Demonstrate a succinct understanding and appropriate critique of the scholarly
literature relevant to their research topic
• State and defend the importance of an appropriate business research question
• Demonstrate an ability to conduct business research in a competent, effective and
ethically appropriate manner
• Demonstrate an ability to plan, collect and analyse data relevant to the research question
• Demonstrate an ability to present the study and its findings in writing. The final project
must include a theoretical context for the study, the importance of the research
question, the appropriateness of the methodology and data analysis, and defend the
conclusions that were drawn
