BIOC40140 Biotech Case Study

Academic Year 2023/2024

This module requires students to perform case studies of a biotechnological innovations, therapeutic compounds, or services using the scientific literature and online or other sources. The Case Study if offered in a variety of formats (traditional Case Study; Newspaper/Magazine article; Grant Application; Presentation of Venture Capital Board etc.).

In additional, three optional workshops are offered focusing on:

1. Creative Thinking in Science
2. Critical Thinking in Science
3. Presenting your Ideas

Learning Outcomes:

Upon completion of this module students will be able to independently research a technique, compound or innovation,. They will be able to provide a written assessment of the importance, potential and practical aspects of developing and applying the technique/compound/innovation.
