This course provides an introduction to the combined electric and magnetic principles that underlie the functionality of electrical and electronic systems.
The following topics will be covered:
- Mathematical foundations review (vector calculus, including Grad, Dic & Curl)
- Electric charge and the electric field
- Electric flux density and Gauss's Law
- Electric scalar potential
- Electric field in matter and boundary conditions
- Capacitance
- Numerical simulation of electromagnetic problems
- Capacitance & Inductance
- Maxwell's equations
- Applications of Electromagnetic in Sensors and actuators
- Introduction to Electromagnetic waves
