BDIC1031J Maths (Engineering) 3

Academic Year 2021/2022

This is the third module of calculus. The main contents include infinite series ( convergence Test ,absolutely /conditionally convergence, power series, Taylor series, Maclaurin series ,binomial series ,Fourier Series.) and analytic Geometry ( plane , line , curves in space, functions with two independent variables and surfaces including cone, cylinder, surface of revolution, quadratic surfaces).
Students can cultivate logical thinking and special imagination as well as ability of problem-solving.

Approaches to Teaching and Learning:
Key teaching approach is face-to-face lectures as well as tutorial classes. At the same time, we encourage peer instructions and team work with discussions. Study on-line by watching Mooc of Chinese Universities is also a wonderful way to learn this course in advance.

Feedback Strategy/Strategies

• Feedback individually to students, on an activity or draft prior to summative assessment
• Feedback individually to students, post-assessment
• Group/class feedback, post-assessment
• Online automated feedback

How will my Feedback be Delivered?

The performance with respect to the assignments will be feedback individually to the students every week. And an on-line feedback will also be given when Teaching Assistants or lecturer tutor on-line. Sometimes, if there is team work, group feedback will be given.
