ARCT40870 Agency: Design / Build

Academic Year 2021/2022

The basis for this project is to experiment with the design and construction of a small building or building component, in a manner that is linked to the possibility of self building.
As such, we will be working with partners who will provide the brief and building materials for the project. They will retain the use of the building, when completed.
Readily available materials will be the primary source for building solutions sought.
Other considerations, such as sitting, universal access, thermal performance, passive storage of heat, collection and storage of water, durability, maintenance, assembly and disassembly, may also influence the type construction.
The building stage for this Module occurs during the 2 week's academic break between weeks 7 and 8 of the Term. Students enrolled will be required to work one of those two weeks.
