This module provides a follow-up to the Stage 1 module ARCT10170 Introduction to Regenerative Practice.

The module facilitates an informed inquiry by each student into regenerative practice; formulating a position and using this to plan their next steps while learning key skills.

Emphasising the concept of ‘Earth as Client’, the module aims to position students to contribute creatively and meaningfully to the evolving role of architects as agents of change in the creation of a more sustainable built environment and ultimately a decarbonised society.

About this Module

Learning Outcomes:

1) Critically engage with architectural practice in the shift from extractive to regenerative approaches by:

- Engaging with established and emerging modes of practice during module activities and assignments and providing informed, insightful and critical reflections during module sessions and in the reflective portfolio

- Demonstrating an awareness of professional practice in the Irish context

- Individually: comprehensively researching, constructing an argument and writing a short academic essay in a specialist area
