The objective of this course is to introduce the student to a broader environmental context for architecture. On completion of this module students should be able to:
Demonstrate a broad understanding of the relationship between the environment, building and society.
Describe and explain the relationship between climate and the environmental impact of design and construction.
Demonstrate the ability to utilise analysis techniques to inform and interpret design decisions.
The module reviews current environmental topic relevant to architecture and society in general. It considers human factors that drive the environmental impact of building and reviews methods of analysis that support energy conscious site design.
