This is a graduate level research project in AI, weather and/or climate change. The student will be expected to write a thesis giving an original exposition of the topic which should demonstrate in-depth mastery of the area. Each project will be co-supervised by a UCD academic and a member of Met Éireann staff. There may also be the possibility (depending on the project) of spending some time at the Met Éireann offices over the summer.

Learning Outcomes:

On successful completion of this project the student will have
a) gained an in-depth understanding of a significant topic in an area appropriate to the MSc
b) given an original written exposition of the topic including the necessary background
c) given an oral presentation of a relevant topic
