We will go beyond the basics of general relativity and use the skill set and tools that you acquired in ACM40750 to learn about
- Applying GR to the cosmos
- Kerr metric of spinning black hole spacetimes
- Gravitational wave solution to the field equation
- Sources of gravitational waves
- Newman Penrose formalism

About this Module

Learning Outcomes:

- Learn the Kerr solution
- Understand how gravitational waves are generated and detected.
- Be able to reformulate the field equation in terms of the spin coefficients
