Learning Outcomes:

On completion of this module students should be able to: (i) Understand the nature and purpose of corporate financial statements; (ii) Understand how financial accounting information systems work in practice (iii) Carry out advanced financial statement analysis (iv) Describe the role and purpose of Managerial Accounting (v) Apply, understand and critically evaluate fundamental managerial accounting practices with specific reference to cost-volume-profit analysis, budgetary control, decision-making and internal performance evaluation.

Approaches to Teaching and Learning:
A variety of teaching approaches are applied throughout the module. The classes include case and task-based learning where learners apply the materials covered during class to case studies and other practical exercises.

A problem-based approach is adopted for the continuous assessment. Students work in groups to address a problem and produce a report.
