Stage 1

Students must take a total of 12 modules (60 credits) in Stage 1 with at least 11 modules (55 credits) from within the BSc degree programme. Core and option modules should be taken as directed in the selected subject stream(s). Additional options may be selected from within the BSc degree programme. Students may select a 5-credit elective module in the Spring trimester.

Stage 1 Options - A)MIN0OF:
Students who intend to study Mathematics or Financial Mathematics as a subject in Stage 2 must take MATH 10040 and MATH10320 in either Stage 1 or Stage 2. Students who wish to study Applied & Computational Mathematics or Statistics in Stage 2 must take MATH 10320 in either Stage 1 or Stage 2. Students who wish to study Financial Mathematics as a subject in Stage 2 must take ECON10720 in either Stage 1 or Stage 2.

Stage 1 Options - A)MIN0OF:
Students who intend to study Mathematics or Financial Mathematics as a subject in Stage 2 must take MATH 10040 and MATH10320 in either Stage 1 or Stage 2. Students who wish to study Applied & Computational Mathematics or Statistics in Stage 2 must take MATH 10320 in either Stage 1 or Stage 2. Students who wish to study Financial Mathematics as a subject in Stage 2 must take ECON10720 in either Stage 1 or Stage 2.

Any student wishing to pursue a degree in Applied & Computational Mathematics and who did not obtain a H5 or higher in Higher Level Leaving Certificate Applied Mathematics must take ACM10080 in Stage 1.

Stage 1 Options - B)MIN0OF:
Any student wishing to pursue a degree in Applied & Computational Mathematics and who did not obtain a H5 or higher in Higher Level Leaving Certificate Applied Mathematics must take ACM10080 in Stage 1.
     
Stage 1 Options - C)MIN0OF:
Students must register to a minimum of 55 Programme Credits (Core/Options). Students may register to a 5-credit elective module in the Spring Trimester or select additional Option modules from the list below in order to fulfill their Stage requirements. Students who must take STAT10060 as a core module in the Spring Trimester can only take STAT10050 in the Autumn Trimester.
