Stage 1

Subject/ Stream selection: You must choose two language streams from the five modern languages offered on this programme: French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish.

Culture option selection: You must select one language culture option from the list below to fulfill stage 1 requirements. Please ensure that you choose an option in one of the languages you are studying. Please note, you will be required to take a culture option module in the second language you are studying in stage 2. For example, a French and German student could select FR10120 Reading Short French Texts in stage 1, and would then be required to choose a German culture option in stage 2.

Stage 2

You must select one language culture option from the list below to fulfill stage 2 requirements. You must select an option in one of the languages you are studying, ensuring that you select an option in the language you did not select in stage 1; i.e. studying French and Spanish, if a French culture option is taken in stage 1, a Spanish culture option must be taken in stage 2.
