Your excellent knowledge of languages and strong communication, intercultural and analytical skills will open careers across a wide spectrum of industries, including Translation and Interpreting, Politics and Public Service, Journalism, Education, Finance, Marketing and Business, Creative and Media Industries.

When you graduate, you will be well qualified to pursue a range of courses at MA and PhD level, including the UCD taught Master of Modern Languages & Linguistics. You will also be eligible for conversion courses in translation, International Relations and International Business.


Stage 1

You are required to take 55 credits from your programme and 5 elective credits. Students must take all core modules. Students must choose a minimum of 2 languages but can take 3 languages. Students must select a minimum of 3 modules from the Content Options. A further third language can either be chosen from the subject selection grid OR you can choose a third language from the Optional Third Language options block below. Students should make up any remaining programme credits from the Programme Options block below. A 5 credit general elective module can be chosen in the electives tab during the January registration period OR you can take a module from the Elective Substitution Options block below in place of your elective.
