About This Course
- Complete case study examples of practical pest-crop based scenarios
- Demonstrate in depth knowledge of the biology and non-chemical control of weeds, pests and diseases in crop production
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and an ability to work effectively with others.
- Understand the important issues relevant to the use of pesticides in crop production and the potential risks to human health and the environment, and understand the appropriate measures to reduce such risks
- Understand the principles of pesticide chemistry, including mode of action, physical properties and resistance risk
- Use decision support systems for implantation of integrated pest management practices, to guide the use of pesticides in crop production
