This 5-credit module continues on from the stage 1 module, Professional Growth 1 (PG1), as part of the Professional Growth stream that runs vertically throughout the MVB Programme. The overall aim of this module is to enable students to gain awareness of, and develop, a variety of professional/non-technical competencies required by members of the veterinary profession.

Communication and team work are key overarching themes in this module, building on concepts introduced in PG1, as is Evidence Based Practice which will be explored through application of the 5-'A's framework also introduced in PG1. The remaining themes include ethics and animal welfare, veterinary legislation, and health and safety law from a veterinary perspective. These will be explored within the context of their relevance to the veterinary scenarios explored as part of the group work.

The module uses blended learning, including lectures, guest speakers, discussion classes, online learning resources, and group project work to support students as they work towards achievement of the learning outcomes.

***Please check and be aware if this module is a prerequisite (Academic Regulation 3.27(a)) for any future modules.
