Whether incited by technology, competition, globalization, or inspiration, organizational change has become a constant in today’s business world. This module explores how to out-innovate the competition and examines tools that are available to the leader to move toward a new and improved organisation.

About this Module

Learning Outcomes:

The learning outcomes of the module include:
1. To understand how effective organizations are designed, built, and maintained.
2. To increase understanding of the nature of organizational change.
3. To hone change leadership skills by analyzing resistance and support for change, by using appropriate change strategies for overcoming resistance and building support, and by creating and implementing an effective change plan.

Approaches to Teaching and Learning:
The module has a detailed study guide. Students are required to complete the module pre-reading and pre-work prior to attending the seminar sessions. The sessions themselves will be a combination of lectures, group discussion, in-class presentations, case study discussions and classroom exercises. A heavy emphasis in the seminars is on teasing out the implications of theory for practical application in a workplace context.
