This module will comprise 4 lectures/seminars of 2 hours duration each. The module will also include 6 one-hour research/dissertation supervision meetings for each student. The module lectures/seminars will focus on the following two areas; (a) Quality and qualitive research and dissemination of key findings (b) The writing of the research/dissertation report.

About this Module

Learning Outcomes:

On completion of the module students will have: (1) An understanding of methods of research that are suited to and useful for the pursuing of a research question within the Systemic Psychotherapy field. (2) An ability to undertake a piece of research in a chosen area from a systemic/ social constructionist perspective with due consideration to ethical concerns.

Approaches to Teaching and Learning:
This module will take place during Semesters 1 & 2 and will comprise 4 seminars/workshops of 2 hours duration each. The module will also include 6 one-hour research dissertation supervision meetings for each student. The module seminars/workshops will focus on the following two areas:

(a) The unique applications of methodologies in the context of student research questions and “data” gathering.
(b) The writing of the research/dissertation report.
