This module will comprise 8 lectures/seminars of 1.5 hours duration each. The module will prepare students to conduct small scale case studies that contribute to clinical practice. It will explore key issues in conducting clinical research such as ethics and reflexivity, analytic methods and the identification and selection of data.

About this Module

Learning Outcomes:

On completion of the module the student will have: (1) A developed understanding of the value of research for systemic psychotherapy practice. (2) An advanced understanding of design in qualitative research and of the key methodologies utilized in this area. (3) An appreciation of the challenges of undertaking a piece of research in a chosen area from a systemic social constructionist perspective with due consideration for ethical concerns.
