PSY40310

Academic Year 2024/2025
This is a skills based module designed to facilitate and support graduate research students in the development of their academic writing skills. The focus of the module is on writing an article for a peer reviewed publication. Students identify their own writing projects and a suitable journal. Each written project is peer reviewed within the group and all students are required to submit at least one completed draft article over the course of the academic year and to review in writing all articles submitted to the group. The group meets on the first Wednesday of every month from 2.00 to 4.00 with the first meeting on Wednesday October 2nd 2024 in the Newman Building. Because of the specific focus on the skills required to write a journal article this module is not suitable for first year graduate students. Students are strongly advised to contact Eilis Hennessy (eilis.hennessy@ucd.ie) to discuss whether or not the module would suit their current area of research before they register for the module. They should also speak to their research supervisor about identifying a suitable writing project. This module needs a minimum of 5 registered students to run.
