This module is offered over two years and focuses on group work skills and in particular the recognising and responding to group work incidences or events from a group analytic perspective. Skills can include active dynamic administration and negotiation, managing group boundaries, recognising and identifying parallel processes and working unconscious dynamics in a group work setting.

About this Module

Learning Outcomes:

On completion of this module trainees will be able to
• Develop a capacity to use group analytic principles in the delivery of their group work practice, e.g. managing group boundaries.
• Acquire the ability to recognise different development group stages and how they can use this knowledge to support their group work skills.
• Gain confidence in managing projections in relating to working as a group facilitator.
• Understand and be able to apply a group analytic perspective to their group work practice.
