This module is offered over two years and trainees are required to participate in group analytic supervision and to reflexively engage in the process. They will also contribute actively in the dynamic experience by reflecting on and applying group analytic principles in the work.
Further to this trainee will plan for, establish and facilitate a short-term group (minimum twelve weeks) as group leader. Trainees will particularly focus on the tenets of dynamic administration and engage with a group analytic perspective in its preparation, delivery and supervision of the group.

About this Module

Learning Outcomes:

On completion of this module trainees will be able to
• Demonstrate reflexive contributions to the learning culture of the supervision group, through self-presentation and engagement with others.
• Integrate learning outcomes from year one into practice.
• Develop a capacity for group leadership and for containment, with emphasis on thinking, linking, boundary management and phase appropriate interventions.
• Build their competence in dynamic administration skills through the effective management of records, notes, administration tasks and adequate preparation for supervision.
• Identify and synthesise the application of key theoretical concepts related to the practice experience and group process.

Approaches to Teaching and Learning:
This module is experiential in nature and requires active engagement in supervision, practice and reflection. Trainees will be required to present material for discussion and to participate in discussion on material brought by other trainees.
They will also have to actively engage in the development group work practice though the establishment and leading of short term group for 12 weeks.
