This module is offered over 2 years and is a cornerstone of group analytic training is the experience of personal therapy in a group setting. By undergoing a group analytic therapy as a group member trainees acquire at first hand the experience of a group analytic psychotherapy process. The self-knowledge gained is the foundation for the trainee’s developing inner resources.

Learning Outcomes:

On completion of this module trainees will be able to
• Increase their self-awareness and reflexive capacity.
• Begin the process of integration of early life experiences
• Develop the capacity to engage opening and honestly with others.
• Recognise their defence mechanisms, patterns of behaviour and resistance.

Approaches to Teaching and Learning:
This module is experiential by its very nature due to the importance of participation in the group analytic group for the ongoing development of the trainee clinician.
