This is a Autumn module and will include 6 seminars of 1.5 duration each. Students will deepen their knowledge of both the theory and practice of ethics as it applies to Systemic Psychotherapy practice. This module aims to facilitate the development of the student's ability to analyse, understand and act upon those dilemmas in clinical practice which relate to ethical themes. The practical aspects of ethical decision making will receive attention as will the ethics relating to research practices.

About this Module

Learning Outcomes:

On completion of this module the student will have: (1) an awareness of ethics as an intrinsic part of professional practice. (2) an understanding of and ability to manage effectively the complexities of ethical clinical practice and research. (3) a knowledge of ethical decision-making processes in resolving ethical dilemmas within clinical practice.

Approaches to Teaching and Learning:
This is a Semester 1 module and will include 9 hours of seminars.
Students will deepen their knowledge of both the theory and practice of ethics as it applies to Systemic Psychotherapy practice.
Written Assignment: One written assignment to be completed in the form of a case commentary that focuses on ethical issues & FTAI code of ethics: 1000 words.
