The student completes an internship in an academic or industry workplace relevant to the space sector. The internship may be lab-based or desk-based and the topic is provided by the internship host. The student will apply the knowledge and skills acquired during preceding coursework, while developing additional skills relevant to the space sector.

About this Module

Learning Outcomes:

On completion of this module, the student should be able to:
- conduct independent research;
- apply knowledge and skills acquired during preceding taught MSc modules and undergraduate training;
- acquire further knowledge and skills relevant to the MSc programme theme;
- write a substantial scientific report, including a literature review, definition of the research task, methodology adopted, and outcomes;
- conduct themselves professionally in a scientific workplace.

Approaches to Teaching and Learning:
Research project which is continuously supervised by an academic supervisor and 2nd graded by an academic who works broadly in a similar research field.

Final results will be disseminated either within a poster session with Q&A session or via a lab report.
