Learning Outcomes:
On completion of this module students should:
1. Achieve the competencies set out in the Physiotherapy Clinical Placement Assessment Form Level 2
2. Demonstrate detailed or advanced theoretical knowledge and understanding in the clinical area through demonstration of advanced clinical reasoning skills and be able to identify and assess the service users’ need
3. Apply their knowledge and problem-solving abilities as part of the multidisciplinary team, in new clinical environments, using previous experience and advanced clinical reasoning skills, have the ability to formulate judgements with incomplete or limited information to implement evidence-based treatment in practice
4. Be able to work in partnership with the service users, their carers and other professionals. Be confident in screening, delegation, and appropriate onward referral as appropriate for each service user.
5. Manage documentation and communication of the service user information clearly and in an unambiguous manner that adheres to the legal requirements of the profession within a multidisciplinary setting.
6. Engage in reflection on the wider professional issues, social and ethical responsibilities linked to the application and evaluation of practice and demonstrate the learning skills to allow them to develop professionally in a manner that is largely self-directed and autonomous.
7. Recognise the need for effective self-management of workload and resources and be able to practice autonomously

Clinical practice on placement varies depending on the specialties available on site.
Clinical practice assessment is determined by the Physiotherapy Clinical Placement Assessment Form under the 3 headings - Assessment & Management, Professionalism and Documentation / Communication.
The portfolio includes the reflective practice assignment, the evidence based clinical reasoning form and unplanned learning.
