Learning Outcomes:
On completion of the module, the student should be able to:
•Critically analyse the theoretical concepts associated with caring for particular client groups and their families/carers in a community context.
•Critically explore the role of the PHN in the management of complex care situations such as chronic illness, palliative care, disability and wound management.
•Recognise and discuss the role of the PHN in the management of particular health related issues in a community context such as mental health or disability.
•Demonstrate a clear understanding of PHN practice and the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration in relation to safeguarding vulnerable groups such as children and older people.
•Critically debate the current legislation, policy and related responsibilities of the PHN in child protection, domestic violence and elder abuse.
•Critically examine the role of the PHN and the multidisciplinary team in the management of particular complex cases in a community context.
