Indicative Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module students should be able to:
• Critically discuss the community services for infants, children and young people in relation to their health and wellbeing
• Explore and evaluate the current system of community services and supports
• Demonstrate a synthesis of knowledge and skills coherent with best practice and the application of evidence based community interventions with infants, children, young people and their families with regards to health and wellbeing interventions
• Investigate and explain the role of the community children’s health nurse in promoting health and wellbeing when working with infants, children, young people and their families who have complex care needs
• Analyse children’s rights as they pertain to health care.
• Discuss the role of the children’s nurse in relation meeting the holistic needs of the child and his/her family, including siblings, for children who have complex care needs, an intellectual disability and require palliative and end of life care.

Feedforward will be utilised within this module. Students will receive both general feedback from following submission of the first Etivity and be given an opportunity to ask questions. Individual feedback will also be given through the VLE. Following submission of the second Etivity, students will receive individual feedback through the VLE and can request face to face feedback.
