Learning Outcomes:
On completion of the course, the participant will be able to:
1. Demonstrate a knowledge base and a level of competence in clinical practice skills essential for safe practice in the cardiology department, which are grounded in recent evidence-based nursing research.
2. Engage in the concept of reflective practice, self-directed learning, practice the critical reasoning and decision-making skills required for the nursing management of the patient with common cardiac diseases.
3. Demonstrate the skills of assessment, analysis, critical thinking, problem-solving and reflective practice in the delivery of holistic care for the cardiology patient from diagnosis to end of life. Incorporate these skills into the comprehensive nursing assessment, management and evaluation of a patient with common cardiac conditions.
4. Exhibit the correct application and utilisation of a systematic approach to nursing care incorporating patient assessment, identification and prioritising of needs, delivering, implementing and evaluating the delivery of care nursing care for the patient with specified cardiac diseases
