This module is intended to introduce the student to the exigenecies of fieldwork by pursuing a brief project (to be agreed with the module coordinator) in the field, and writing a final paper examining and evaluating that experience. Interim projects (as outlined) are designed to contribute to and develop this, and the final paper should take account of these experiences as well as feedback provided. The ultimate aim is to guide the student in completing a brief (c. 3,000 words), but detailed ethnographic account.
