MIS4015S Analysis for Business

Academic Year 2024/2025

"In the 21st century, data is ubiquitous. Companies have to constantly adjust to complex, data-driven rapidly changing environments, building capacity and data literacy in both “small data” and “big data”, and creating systems of data collection and analysis. This creates opportunities to turn data into insight, but also to use data to support and promote transparency and accountability.

Data Analysis is the application of statistical techniques to describe and explore a set of data with the objective of highlighting useful information. Data Analysis is used to support evidence-based decision making, and so is a core part of modern business practices.

This module is a foundation in data analysis for business managers, and aims to familiarise you with data analysis techniques, which will serve as a basis for other specialised data-driven subjects, such as Human-Resources, Accounting, Finance, etc.
