Curricular information is subject to change.

This is an applied laboratory/practical module, which MUST be taken in conjunction with the 5 ECTS module MEEN41090 Eng. Decision Support Systems. This means that MEEN41090 is a co-requisite for this MEEN41310 module.

While MEEN41090 Eng. Decision Support Systems provides the theoretical, software and analytical foundations, the "Engineering DSS Projects" module is designed to apply those concepts in a practical manner to a range of contemporary industrial case studies. This provides students with an opportunity to translate the theory to practice, with particular emphasis on the application of simulation modelling tools and techniques to assist decision-making practices.

About this Module

Learning Outcomes:

1. Demonstrate the application of simulation tools and techniques to analyse a real case scenario and to support decision making.
2. Critique the analytical results of the case scenario analysis with a view to improving decision making competency.
3. Apply verbal communication through class participation and written communication through the submission of case study report.
