1. Use international technical specification standards to produce detailed 1st and 3rd angle projection drawings of components and assemblies. Recognise and use correct drafting symbols and methods. Specify limits and fits and also geometric tolerances.
2. Design and draw machine components such as bolts, springs, seals, bearings and gears.
3. Use computer aided design software to create and improve components and products.
4. Design mechanical transmission systems.
5. Develop design solutions to general problems of a mechanical nature.
